Where does the name Ghurka come from?
Pronounced - "Gerka"
Ghurka is the name given to the young men from the mountains of Nepal who since the early 1800's have made up the legendary British military regiments.
In their journeys to the ends of the earth they soon realized gear was needed that could hold up to the harsh and inhospitable conditions encountered. This gear needed to be both wear resistant and weather resistant, thus a special tanning process was created that made ordinary leather something extraordinary. A lasting luster that instead of deteriorating as other, lesser leathers may, mellows into a work of art.

How do I clean and care for my Ghurka product?
Rarely does a Ghurka bag become completely worn out. Every piece is so well made that it actually looks better over time. Follow these simple instructions to ensure that your Ghurka pieces will last and last.
Ghurka Leather:
Surface dirt
For surface dirt, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth
Minor scuffs
Lightly rub the marks with your fingertips.
If the scuff is more serious, use Ghurka Leather Care Formula as a cleaner and as a conditioner. Always apply a small amount onto a clean, dry cloth and rub gently into the leather, evenly covering a complete section or panel of the product in order to achieve a uniform appearance. When dry, gently buff the leather with a dry, clean cloth.
Suede:
Brush any loose dirt off with a soft brush.
Fabrics:
Ghurka fabrics can be cleaned with a mild solution of neutral detergent mixed with warm water. Mix approximately one teaspoon to each pint of water. A clean, white cloth dampened with this solution should be used to "lift" out the stain by blotting the complete area. Never scrub or brush one particular spot on your bag. This could lighten the color of your fabric. It is always best to clean a complete section of the product to achieve a uniform appearance. Removal of stains is usually easier when the stains are cleaned immediately.
Never dry clean or machine wash any Ghurka product.

How do I order refills and inserts for my Ghurka organizers & address books?

In most organizers there is a re-order form that will help you identify the item #'s of the different refills. You may fill out the form and fax it to the number listed below.

What is the Ghurka guarantee?
At Ghurka we strive to craft the finest most durable products available in the world today. In keeping with this tradition, we guarantee all of our products against defects in materials and workmanship.
Our guarantee is not an unconditional guarantee for the life of the product. Our guarantee does not cover product damage that may result from abuse or mishandling of the product. We also do not cover incidental or consequential damages, such as loss of the product or damage/loss of the contents of the bag or product.
Normal wear and tear is naturally not covered by our guarantee, but we will be happy to provide you with high-quality repair service for a reasonable fee - assuming the item is repairable and that the materials from which it was made are still available.

How do I place an order?
You may place an order with us by any of the following methods:
On-line - You may place an order on-line any time day or night. Simply navigate to the product page you desire and click add to cart. Then check out and follow the directions given.
Phone - You may place your order by phone business days Monday through Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM by calling 1-800 587-1584. A Ghurka customer service representative will be happy to assist you.
In store - Visit Store Locator in the Customer Service section.
Fax - You may fax your order to us anytime by filling out the order form on the site and then selecting order by fax and submit. Then print out the order page and fax it to us at 1-203-854-9827. We will contact you if there is any questions about your order.

How do I check my order?
When your order has shipped we will email you with your UPS tracker #. You can log onto www.UPS.com and input the tracker number. You may also contact us at Info@Ghurka.com or at 1-800 587-1584 with any question regarding your order.
Please be sure and reference you order # and/or your name and address.

Does Ghurka accept international orders?
Ghurka.com ships internationally provided that UPS ships to that destination. Two options are available at checkout - Worldwide Express and Worldwide Expedited. For orders shipping to Canada - Standard Ground is also available.
All applicable duties and taxes for international orders must be paid by the customer, and will be billed by the delivering carrier.
What about sales tax, use tax and duties?
Ghurka.com is required by law to collect applicable sales or use tax on all purchases shipped to states where we maintain a place of business. These taxes will be added to your order. For orders outside the United States, all applicable duties must be paid by the recipient, and will be billed by the delivering carrier.

What is your shipping policy?
We ship orders via UPS ground unless otherwise specified. You may request UPS Next-day air or Second-day air during the check out process, additional charges will apply.

What is your returns and exchange policy?
Returns are Easy!
Our return policy is simple. Within 30 days of receipt of your order, you may return any item in its original condition, for a full refund. Items which have been personalized, monogrammed or embossed may not be returned. Please note that we can only process returns and refunds for items purchased from Ghurka.com. For store purchases, please return to the store of original purchase.
How to Return
Simply indicate the reason for your return, include the packing slip with your return, and wrap the package securely in its original packaging. Enclose the completed return form that arrived with your order, attach the return label provided and ship to the address indicated on the label. For your protection we recommend that you use UPS or Insured Parcel Post and insure your shipment for its full retail value.
Important: If you do not have the return label provided to you by Ghurka.com please email us at Info@Ghurka.com or call us toll free at 1-800 587-1584, Monday - Friday 9 AM to 5 PM EST for return instructions. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.
Gift Exchanges
Our customer service staff will process exchanges within 30 days of purchase. Please indicate what you would like to exchange the product for on the return/exchange form provided with your order and we will take care of the rest. If the item is a gift we can issue a Ghurka.com credit to the gift recipient at the same address to which the order was shipped. Including your packing slip and the email address, or the name of the person who gave the gift will help to expedite the process. Please include your own email address as well so that we may confirm your refund. Please see the above for instructions on how to return merchandise.

What about sending a gift?
Ghurka is happy to send any item as a gift. Please be sure that the ship to address is accurate when ordering. Ghurka may from time to time call/email you when you indicate different billing and shipping addresses. This is only to ensure that you were the one who made the purchase and is for your protection and is not intended to be intrusive in any way.
If you would also like gift packaging and a hand written gift card included with your purchase, please check the gift packaging box and enter your message when prompted. Most items can be beautifully packaged at a charge of $7 per item. To have this service, check the appropriate box and proceed to checkout where the fee will be added.
